The City of Windhoek will begin a mass disconnection exercise today, targeting residents and businesses with outstanding municipal accounts. The exercise will cover all suburbs in the capital and forms part of the City's efforts to recover overdue payments and improve revenue collection. City spokesperson Lydia Amutenya told Future Media News that the disconnections will affect customers with unpaid water and electricity bills. Residents and businesses with outstanding accounts are urged to settle their debts to avoid losing access to essential municipal services. The City has been working to recover millions of dollars owed by customers, with unpaid municipal accounts placing pressure on its finances and ability to provide services.
