Title: Psalm 127: Biblical Parenting, Humility in Leadership, and Family Stewardship
Biblical leadership in the home is fundamentally defined by humility. In this episode of Wisdom Wednesday with Rocky Stevenson Pastor of Benoni bible Church, we explore a foundational truth every parent must embrace: our children do not belong to us; they are an inheritance from Yahweh (Psalm | 127:3). As stewards entrusted with image-bearers of God, mothers and fathers are called to lead not with harsh self-reliance, but with a humble, servant heart under the lordship of Jesus Christ.
Parenting in our own wisdom leads to pride, anger, and spiritual exhaustion. However, true humility recognizes that while we can shape environment and behavior, only God can regenerate a child's heart. A humble parent leads on their knees in dependent prayer, is quick to ask for forgiveness when they fail, listens before reacting (James | 1:19–20), and diligently raises their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians | 6:4). When we humble ourselves under God's mighty hand, He promises abundant grace, wisdom, and strength for every parental anxiety (1 Peter | 5:5–7).
We invite you to listen, reflect on your heart as a parent, and embrace the grace God provides to lead your family with Christlike humility.
