Israel Bremer recently won the Junior African Championship Golf Tournament at the age of 7. Jurgen Brumer, father of this 7-year-old golf prodigy joined us on the Good Morning Breakfast.

Israel first started showing an interest in golf from a young age of about 2/ 3, ball skills come naturally, Israel plays golf and shows promise in tennis but also takes part in Rugby and Cricket for team involvement.

We were curious to find out how this family balances Israels natural talent with pushing him to achieve his potential.

Jurgen tells scary stories of other parents on these tours who scream at their kids and get angry when they don’t perform at the level they expect – many of these parents project their own “dreams” on their children’s talents.

The family’s approach is LOVE and enjoyment of the game first and having fun together as a family, the competition is secondary as they try to balance the pressure.
