Joining us in studio today is a true rising star in South Africa’s music and entertainment scene. Born and raised in the picturesque village of Bergville, nestled under the Drakensberg Mountains — or uKhahlamba, as many know them — Thabile Mandebele Ngobese is a dynamic Afro-pop artist and actress whose passion for music began at a young age, singing in Sunday school, school choirs, and local competitions.
Her journey took her through the ranks of backing vocals and talent shows like Idols and I Want to Sing Gospel, before stepping into the spotlight with her powerful debut single, “Impilo”, released in 2023. The song, a heartfelt tribute to her late father and grandmother, marked her official entry into the Afro-pop world and touched many with its raw emotion and sincerity.
Since then, Thabile has graced stages at major events like the Drakensberg Extravaganza, uKhahlamba Music Experience, and even performed at Big Zulu’s homecoming. She’s followed up her debut with songs like “Imbewu”, and a collaboration with Zyda titled “Sithandwa Sami”, showing her growing range and ambition.
Now balancing both music and acting, she’s gearing up for the release of her next single “Ngiyala” and her highly anticipated debut EP titled “Kulunga Sebefungile”, set to drop on 30 November 2024. The EP will feature three tracks, including a unique fusion of Afro-pop and Amapiano.
Thabile is ready to expand her sound, collaborate across genres, and continue making her mark. Please help us welcome a passionate storyteller and a true talent — Thabile Mandebele Ngobese!"
