This Mandela Day, VOW 88.1 FM is proud to honour the legacy of Nelson Mandela by giving back in a meaningful and heartfelt way. In partnership with the Apartheid Museum and TourVest Destinations, we are donating 67 warm, high-quality blankets to Crown Mines Primary School—symbolising the 67 years Madiba dedicated to changing the world for the better.
This initiative would not have been possible without the incredible support of Aranda.co.za, who generously provided the blankets and helped turn this vision into a reality.
The Apartheid Museum has also played a vital role in this initiative by collecting sanitary pads, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, blankets, jerseys, socks, shoes, and shirts to ensure learners at Crown Mines Primary receive essentials that go beyond just warmth—offering dignity and care.
To mark the occasion, VOW 88.1 FM will broadcast LIVE from Crown Mines Primary School on Friday, 18 July between 9AM and 12PM, capturing the spirit of giving and community engagement in real time.

Aranda’s story traces back five generations to Prato, Italy, the historic textile capital of Tuscany. From those early roots, the brand has grown into a proudly South African icon with a global reputation grounded in heritage, innovation, and unwavering quality.
This Mandela Day, VOW 88.1 FM stands in unity with Aranda, the Apartheid Museum, and TourVest Destinations—proving that when communities and brands come together, we can wrap the next generation in warmth, dignity, and hope.
