FAITH ADVOCATE CONNIE DISCUSSES THE TRUE MEANING OF PASSOVER

--:--
In a recent episode of "Just Gospel," host Malefa welcomed writer and colorism advocate Connie to discuss the significance of Passover and its distinction from Easter celebrations.
Connie, who is also a social media manager, podcaster, and blogger focused on healing, identity, and faith, shared her perspective on Passover as "more than just the death and resurrection of Yeshua."
"Passover for me is the story of love, the love that Yahweh has for his people," Connie explained. "It's the story of redemption, the story of being taken out of darkness, out of sin, out of slavery, out of bitterness, and being put into something wonderful."
The discussion highlighted the biblical origins of Passover, tracing it back to the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt, when God instructed them to sacrifice a lamb without blemish and mark their doorposts with its blood. Connie emphasized that Passover is specifically referred to in scripture as "the Lord's Passover" rather than Easter.
Malefa shared her own experience attending her first traditional Passover meal, noting how it deepened her understanding of "the road to Calvary." She remarked on the significance of Christ as the ultimate sacrificial lamb that ended the need for animal sacrifices.
Connie introduced listeners to the Hebrew calendar, explaining that Passover occurs on the 14th day of Nissan. She demonstrated how the Hebrew calendar aligns with the Gregorian calendar used today, with Passover having fallen the previous week.
A key point of the conversation was Connie's assertion that many Christians are "doing things in [God's] name but not on his command," suggesting that following biblical feast days like Passover represents true obedience to God's appointed times.
The interview concluded with a reflection on divine timing, with Connie sharing a personal story about missing a train that taught her how easily one can miss God's timing by being distracted—even by things that seem godly. She warned listeners not to miss God's "divine appointment" by focusing on the wrong things.
"Let us be on the right platform at the right time, and don't be distracted," Connie urged listeners, connecting this principle to the biblical parable of the ten virgins.
