A photographic exhibition called “The Other Side Of Christmas” opened at the Deepest Darkest Art Gallery in Cape Town on 7 November 2019. The works document every day scenes across the American south during the 2014 mid-term elections in the USA which were the precursor to the divisive 2016 Presidential elections. The photographer is Barry Salzman, an award-winning contemporary artist who was born in Zimbabwe and brought up in South Africa and who now lives in the United States. Barry works with photography, video and mixed media and is the recipient of the 2018 International Photographer of the Year Award in the Deeper Perspective category.
