Land, Lives & Liberty Pt. 2: Why does rural SA need secure property rights?

Loading player...
Without property rights, no community can build or prosper. Yet, property rights have become increasingly under threat – especially in rural areas. Expropriation without compensation, land grabs, the inability to gain title deeds and rightfully own property – all these have contributed to the socio-economic instability that makes life in rural SA much harder than it needs to be.

Hermann Pretorius has a discussion with IRR Project Manager, Terence Corrigan, on the absolute vital importance of property rights in rural SA.

This briefing is the second of three this week, as a precursor to the release of the IRR's latest report and accompanying short-documentary, this Saturday; 'Land, Lives & Liberty'.
