The PPC Imaginarium Awards is a BASA Award-winning programme which has a six-category entry field that grew out of the previous PPC Young Concrete Sculptors competition, which solely focused on sculpture. The PPC Imaginarium Awards looks more broadly at forms of sculpture, architecture, industrial design, fashion, jewellery and film, that use cement in an innovative way. Together, the two awards programmes constitute a 27-year-long legacy for and investment in the arts by PPC Ltd.
For this year’s PPC Imaginarium Awards, the Overall Winner, Category Winners and Runners-Up were announced at a Gala Event held at the UJ Art Gallery on 11 April 2019. Since 12 April 2019, all the finalists’ work has been on public display at the gallery. The finalists’ work is drawn from Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein, Durban, Johannesburg and Pretoria.
