On the 50th anniversary of the world's first heart transplant, Chris Barnard's daughter, Deirdre Barnard-Visser, and a member of the original transplant team, Dene Friedmann, will be in conversation on People of Note about the celebrity surgeon and his ground-breaking operation. Deirdre and Dene have been life-long friends, first getting to know each other when they were water-skiing rivals. While preparing for the pioneering heart operation, Chris Barnard coached Deirdre in water-skiing, helping her win Springbok colours when she was only twelve.
