Weather service warns against making open fires

Bloemfontein - The South African Weather Service warns against making open fires as they can lead to runaway veld fires. The bureau warns that high chances of fire are expected over the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, western part of Free State, as well as western part of the North West, today. According to meteorologist Tonie Rossouw, this is due to dry conditions and strong winds in the central region of the country.
