Investment analyst, Chris Gilmour says the proposed tax rate for the highest earning South Africans might come with consequences for our struggling economy.

Finance Minister, Pravin Gordhan tabled the 2017/18 budget in Parliament on Wednesday, announcing a series of tax hikes.
Among them is a personal income tax rate of 45 percent for those earning more that R1.5 million.

Gilmore says while the overall budget was what had been anticipated, the top level income tax has left him a little worried.
