Statistics South Africa recorded 239 liquidations of companies and close corporations in July 2026, down 23.2% from the 311 recorded during the same month last year. Liquidations also fell by 13.9% in the three months to July compared with the corresponding period in 2025, while the number recorded during the first seven months of the year was 4.9% lower than a year earlier.
