IN CONVERSATION WITH MIGHTYKAYGEE

South African artist MightyKayGee is carving out his own space in the music industry with TownshipFunk, a sound that brings together hip-hop, kwaito and the energy of township life.
Born Mfundo Mama in Mdantsane and later raised in Fort Beaufort, popularly known as Ebhofolo, MightyKayGee's musical journey began at an early age. According to his artist profile, his love for music was influenced by a household filled with rhythm, particularly his father's appreciation of old-school jazz and ballads.
That early exposure would eventually develop into an artistic identity that draws from both traditional South African musical influences and contemporary hip-hop.
