South African rapper, producer and songwriter Thabiso Mkhize, better known as Thabzero, is entering a new chapter in his career after appearing in the recently released Netflix drama series Umthetho. The appearance adds acting to a career that has already spanned music, production and songwriting.
Umthetho premiered on Netflix on 14 August 2026 and is a seven-episode South African crime drama. The series follows Mbali, an idealistic state prosecutor who is forced into becoming a double agent after her imprisoned older brother becomes involved in a powerful prison gang. Netflix lists Nqobile Nunu Khumalo, Given Stuurman and Tony Kgoroge among the principal cast.
