Otto van der Walt sat down with Micaela Dale at the Ladles of Love warehouse in Epping a couple of weeks ago, to talk about the project that she heads called Feed the Soil. It is an initiative where they collect your food scraps and cuttings, produce compost, and then distribute the compost to informal farmers in various townships in Cape Town. Then, they buy the fresh produce that the farmers grow, and sell it at pop-ups to, amongst others, the people who supplied the food scraps for the compost. We end our series with Feed the Soil this week looking at what is for sale at the pop-ups, and how to get in contact with the team.
