Millions of Americans who never realized they had Canadian ties are now discovering they may already qualify for citizenship under Bill C-3, An Act to Amend the Citizenship Act, which expands citizenship by descent beyond the previous one-generation limit. It’s triggered a surge of applications as people with Canadian grandparents or more distant ancestry explore their options.
