Why do kids enjoying watching TV upside down?

We've all been there. Or at least, a good number of us did this as kids. Did you ever flip upside down, your head hanging off the couch while watching television?
If you did, then you probably also got told off by your parents.
But why has no one ever asked the question: WHY did we do this?
