Canadians Love the Olympics… But Don't Want to Pay For Them

A new national survey from Liaison Strategies shows Canadians still love the Winter Olympics — especially hockey — but are wary of the price tag of hosting, with only 24 per cent strongly supporting a future Canadian bid. While 86 per cent say the Olympic team makes them proud, most support hosting only if it uses existing venues, reflecting widespread concern about the high costs involved.
