We had a chat to the godfather of house music in Mpumalanga; Dumisani Kunene, better known as DJ Sdunkero, is a Mpumalanga‑based DJ, music producer and club scene icon who has been active in the industry since the early 2000s. He first rose to prominence after signing with House Africa in 2005, which helped launch his career nationally. He won the South African Music Award (SAMA) for Record of the Year with his hit “Maputo Song” from the album Edladleni Volume 1, a significant milestone that brought pride to Mpumalanga.
