DAY 4
REDEMPTION AND FORGIVENESS IN CHRIST
7 In Him (Christ) we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses – Ephesians 1:7 (NIV)
What a glorious reality it is to know that you have been forgiven of all your trespasses, past, present and future!
“For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.” – Hebrews 10:14 (NIV)
When you are in Christ, you possess redemption through His blood.
That means that whatever happened in the past, whatever sins, failings, defeats, shame or guilt may have haunted you, God dealt with that through the cross of Christ Jesus and redeemed it.
He ransomed you and made you holy and blameless in His sight!
What a glorious truth!
God loves you, is jealous over you, and will make sure that you are kept holy and blameless until the day of His coming! (Col 1:22, 1 Thess 5:23).
He is leading you into paths of righteousness for His name’s sake (Ps 23:3) will graciously complete that good work which He has begun in you (Phil 1:6).
He has invested Himself in you and has a greater commitment to your success than you could ever have.
What a glorious truth to know that we have been redeemed, and forgiven, so that we can move forward with great liberty to, and from, His throne of Grace (Heb 4:14-16), divinely enabled to walk emancipated from all guilt and shame, and conquer this world, with His love!
Reflection Prompts
• Is there perhaps a past failure or sin which haunts you and you still carry shame about? Bring it to Jesus now and receive His full forgiveness.
• How does knowing you are already “holy and blameless” in God’s sight free you to live boldly today?
• Pray for someone you know who struggles with guilt, asking God to reveal this truth to them.
Prayer:
Thank you, Holy Father, for your relentless love and forgiveness, redeeming me, and wiping the slate clean once and for all, so I may run with you, with all the divine energy You placed in me.
