South African cricket fans felt a familiar sting of heartbreak on Sunday as the Proteas Women gave their all in a fierce World Cup final clash against India in Mumbai, ultimately falling short by 52 runs.

Though the dream slipped away, the Proteas Women walked off the field with pride - not as defeated players, but as warriors who proved, once again, that South African cricket has the heart, talent, and tenacity to stand among the best in the world.
