According to a recent report by Pnet, demand for AI skills has surged by 352% since 2019, with a 77% increase observed between the first halves of 2024 and 2025. This growth is not limited to specialist roles; traditional positions are also evolving to require AI proficiency.
Specialist roles such as AI software developers, data scientists, and machine learning engineers remain in high demand. However, there is also a notable rise in the need for professionals in fields like marketing, content creation, and finance who possess AI skills. Employers are particularly seeking expertise in general AI tools, automation platforms like Zapier, and generative AI technologies such as ChatGPT.
