Sibongile Mofokeng welcomes Ms. Dikeledi Baloyi and Mpho Mosetlha to discuss the Moses Mabhida Foundation's Thuthuzela Care Centre (TCC). The TCC, named from the Xhosa word meaning "comfort," is a one-stop facility based in hospitals designed to support survivors of sexual offences with immediate medical, legal, and counseling services. The Centres are a critical part of South Africa's national anti-rape strategy, led by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and involving multiple partners. They provide trauma containment, debriefing, and coordinated care to reduce secondary victimization, improve conviction rates, and ensure dignity and justice for survivors. The TCCs offer a safe, victim-friendly environment, integrating police, health professionals, social workers, and legal support all under one roof to streamline the healing and justice process for survivors.
