Phenyo “Lewi Ercoll” Blaar, a 20-year-old performing artist,
songwriter, and producer from Kimberley and raised in Pretoria, is
steadily carving his own lane in the South African music industry.
Since the release of his breakout single Before Us in 2019, Lewi
has built a reputation for blending alternative R&B with Trap, a
sound he refers to as “maquatic” a fluid fusion of melodic and
aquatic influences. His debut EP, Burning Scriptures of The
Hidden Valley (2021), gained recognition on major platforms like
SlikourOnLife, placing him in the spotlight and highlighting his
ability to translate personal experiences into soulful, resonant
music.
