The Toyota Cheetahs have bolstered their second row with the signing of the lock, Curtly Ambrose Thomas, from the Griffons.
The player, who shares his name with the West Indies fast-bowling great Curtly Ambrose, stands at over two metres tall.
His signing comes at a good time after Pieter Jansen van Vuren picked up a serious groin injury against Boland.
