Today on the show, we’re joined by Priest Pope, an Old School hip hop-inspired singer, rapper, songwriter, producer, and musician from Boksburg, East Rand of Johannesburg. Since 2016, Priest Pope has been a driving force in the local music scene, not only elevating his own career but also helping shape the sound of his peers. Known for his soulful lyrics, hard-hitting bars, and conscious storytelling, he brings a fresh yet nostalgic vibe to South African hip hop.
He has released seven projects, including the EP Chapter 2 (2020) and the album Chapter 3 (2023). Now, he’s gearing up to drop his sophomore album SHED [Something Happened Everything Died] on June 27, 2025. We’re excited to hear all about this new project and what’s next for Priest Pope.
