More than 200 mine workers who have been retrenched by the Barberton Mines in Mpumalanga say the retrenchment process was unfair. They claim most of the retrenched employees are locals who have been working for the mining company for many years. They say most of the workers, who were employed two years ago, have not been retrenched. They are now threatening to take legal action against Barberton Mines.
