Government sidelined scientific advice of full return to alcohol sales, industry says

Since the ease of lockdown restrictions to Level 2 have begun, it has seemed on the surface that the liquor and restaurant industries have been opened again. However, beneath the surface, news has come out that the decision to continue restricting alcohol sales went against the advice given to them by scientific experts – who would have been comfortable with a full return to alcohol sales. We speak to convener at the National Liquor Traders Council, Lucky Mtimane.
