While Mamelodi Sundowns have rightfully earned praise for their record-setting unbeaten run in the DStv Premiership, Amazulu have been on a tear of their own, which has seen them improve drastically from their disappointing 2019/20 campaign. Coach Benni McCarthy has delivered results ever since taking over as 'Usuthu' coach, with the club now third in the league, tied on 41 points with Golden Arrows.
In the latest episode of The SL Podcast's "The Carwash" with former Bafana Bafana star Teko Modise & former Ajax Cape Town goalie Sean Roberts, Modise heaps praise on McCarthy's impact as Amazulu, following the team's impressive display against defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
Modise stated, "If you look at what Benni's done, last season Amazulu relied on Ntuli. This season, we don't even speak about Ntuli. Amazulu has qualities, and under Benni they work so well together. As a coach he's young, but he has the players working hard. We need many a Benni [in the PSL]."
