Are teachers safe in schools?

The South African Council for Educators (SACE) doesn't think so!

They launched their handbook on Teachers’ Safety and Security in South African schools. The Handbook is a toolkit guide for teachers on matters affecting them daily in the classroom and school environment and focuses more on their safety and security.

It also provides further guidance on how educators may protect themselves in violent situations that they may confront in a school environment.

Mpho Mashita and DJ Complexion had a conversation with Ella Mokgalane, the CEO of SACE to get more insight on this issue.
