SAFA's Internal Crisis, Chippa's Challenges & More!

Loading player...
The South African Football Association (SAFA) are at a crossroads following Bafana Bafana's failure to qualify for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, the recent sacking of former national team head coach Molefi Ntseki and Neil Tovey vacating his role as technical director in July 2020. The organisation is left with an internal leadership crisis ahead of the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and appears to be struggling to find individuals suited for the job.

In the latest episode of the SL Podcast's "The Carwash", former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teko Modise & former Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper Sean Roberts raise concerns over SAFA's inability to find suitable candidates for the vacant positions, suggesting that nobody with the ability and qualifications to handle the role actually wants to take the job. In the full show, Modise & Roberts also discuss the controversial situation unfolding at Chippa United, with the recent dismissal of former coach Dan Maselela, the hiring, and sacking of under-fire coach Luc Eymeal and poor form in the DStv Premiership.
